Coming to iPhone and iPad.

A personal town-discovery app, not a relocation checklist.

Roost is a personal U.S. town-discovery app for iPhone and iPad. It's built for anyone weighing where else life could happen — whether you're actively house-hunting, quietly considering a move, or just curious what it would feel like to live somewhere else. Roost isn't a real-estate listings site, and it won't tell you where you should live. It gives you three towns worth thinking about, and the tools to think about them for as long as you want.

From a few questions to three real options.

1

Answer a few honest questions

Practical things like budget and water access, and harder-to-name things like quiet, character, and rhythm.

2

Meet three matches

Genuinely different towns, not a ranked list of hundreds, with plain-language reasons for each.

3

Explore, save, compare

Open a Town Guide, add towns to your Journey, and set two side by side whenever you're torn.

Three ways to think about a place.

Discover

Roost starts with three primary matches, not an endless feed. Your Match Recipe is yours to adjust — turn up what matters, like affordability or walkability, and turn down what doesn't. If you know your Human Design chart, you can optionally add it as one more lens on your matches; it's treated as a personal preference, never as fact. Each week, one near-miss town resurfaces as a Wildcard, a reason to keep looking.

Explore

Every match opens into a Town Guide. Town Guides bring together available photos and plain-language Wikipedia summaries, alongside practical context like affordability, walkability, and local character. When you're ready to look at actual homes, Roost hands you off to Zillow. Roost never lists or sells properties itself.

Keep thinking

Save towns to your Journey and move them through stages, from first curiosity to "This is it," with notes along the way. Roost's Homing Network learns gently from the deliberate choices you make — never from how long you look at something — and the adjustment stays small and bounded by design. When you're torn between two places, Compare puts them side by side.

You don't have to be moving.

Most people who open Roost aren't packing boxes. Maybe you'll move — this year, or eventually. Maybe you'll just dream, and that's enough. Roost's job is to help turn a place into a possibility, even if the only thing that changes is how you picture your life.

Built to be private, not just to say so.

  • No account, ever.
  • No ads, no analytics, no behavioral tracking.
  • No GPS and no location permission — Roost never reads your device's location.
  • If you choose to type where you live, work, or family are, that text may be sent to Apple to turn it into an approximate map point. Adrondak never receives or stores your location searches; the places you save remain on your device.
  • Your profile and Journey stay on your device.

Common questions.

How does Roost help me decide where to live?

Roost doesn't decide for you. It narrows a nationwide dataset of 1,700 towns down to three that fit the life you described, with plain-language reasons for each, so you have real, specific options to think about instead of an endless list.

Do I have to be planning a move?

No. Roost works just as well for dreaming as it does for deciding. Many people use it to imagine what life could look like somewhere else, long before any decision is made.

How does Roost choose my town matches?

Roost asks about practical things like budget, water access, and winters, plus harder-to-quantify traits like quiet, character, rhythm, and walkability. Your answers become a Match Recipe you can adjust, and Roost ranks towns against it entirely on your device.

What is the Match Recipe?

Your Match Recipe is the mix of what matters most to you — affordability, quiet, nature, walkability, and more. Roost starts it from your answers, but you can adjust it any time to see how your matches change.

What is the Human Design option, and is it required?

It's entirely optional. If you know your Human Design type and chart details, Roost can use them as one more preference signal when ranking towns. It's treated as a personal lens, not fact, medical guidance, or a validated relocation method — skipping it produces matches just the same.

Can I compare towns side by side?

Yes. Once you've saved at least two towns to your Journey, you can compare them side by side to weigh them directly.

Does Roost use my GPS location?

No. Roost never asks for location permission and never reads your device's GPS. You can optionally type where you live, work, or family are, and that text may be sent to Apple to look up an approximate point — nothing is tracked automatically.

Is my information private?

Yes. There's no account, no analytics, no advertising, and no Roost server that receives your answers. Your profile and Journey are stored on your device. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

Is Roost a real-estate app?

No. Roost doesn't list properties, doesn't know what's for sale, and isn't a broker. When you want to look at actual homes, Roost hands you off to Zillow — Roost's part is helping you figure out where to look.
